On 29.12.2021, the most prominent pro-democracy media outlet after Apple Daily, Stand News Hong Kong, announced its shutdown after police raided its offices, froze its assets, and arrested 7 senior journalists and former board members. The detaintees include the acting chief editor Patrick Lam Shiu-tung and former chief editor Chung Pui-kuen. In addition, the arrested former member of the legislative council, Margaret Ng Ngoi-yee and pop singer Denise Ho Wan-see were both trustees of 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund, the largest organization which offered financial and legal aid to those persecuted. 

A week later, another independent pro-democracy media outlet Citizen News announced its shutdown because of the “deteriorating media environment”. On the same day, the former vice chairwoman of the now-disbanded Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, Chow Hang-tung, was sentenced to 15 months in Prison over banned Tiananmen Massacre vigils.

We, as overseas Hongkongers, stood in solidarity with our counterparts for our freedom.

An 8-week civic education program targeting non-Hongkongers in Berlin who concern about the anti-extradition bill protests in Hong Kong. These discussion sessions were held to explain the struggles and difficulties protesters have been facing from different perspectives, in order to deepen foreigners' understanding of the ongoing protests and the long existing social issues behind.
